Senior Visual Designer - Nokia – London

This is an amazing opportunity to shape the future of Nokia Smartphones, and to help us do this we are looking for exceptional design talent to build a UX Design team for Smart Devices. This group will will be evolving core UI experiences in close collaboration with Microsoft, designing global applications & content for every local need, concepting holistic experiences across the portfolio, and defining the Nokia brand & key signature experiences on Nokia with Windows Phone.

In addition this group includes the Entertainment team which deliver world class applications and experiences across our mobile platforms, web, and other end user touch points. We will continue to expand our breadth and reach to give Nokia users around the world a complete entertainment offering.

Nokia is focused on winning in Smartphones by creating desirable devices that deliver local experiences and global reach through an open and integrated ecosystem. Recent company strategy will allow us to reach this goal through collaboration with Microsoft WP, and there is now an opportunity to be part of one of the biggest changes Nokia has been through.

- Creates layout guides
- Produces graphics assets (icons and widgets)
- Creates visual language system & UI toolkit.

Description
The Senior Visual Designer is responsible for the creation of all online visual design, including typography, visual concept, logo and icon design for the Internet and interactive platforms. They effectively communicate and coordinate with the information architect, writer and production artists to ensure that the visual design communicates the desired message, and functions successfully for varying technical and performance specifications. The candidate must be capable of leading the creative aspects of a project and have demonstrated strong business acumen .Fluency in current graphic design practices and web production software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe after Effects .Knowledge of Web site structure and functionality. Understanding of and experience in corporate branding, layout, colour theory and typography in both print and digital media. Ability to effective manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure .Ability to work independently on strategic issues with client, capable of managing fairly complex projects
Specific Skills

Experience in a Visual Design role
- Exceptional portfolio, with focus on graphic design for web, mobile web, and/or mobile apps.
- Comfort working across several agile development teams, collaborating with many individual designers and product leads along the way.
- Excellent communication skills. From napkin sketches to high-fidelity comps, you can get your visual and non-visual ideas across to a variety of audiences.
- BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, Software Product Design, or equivalent.
- Experience in UX / interaction design would be extra nice. Strong technical skills would be a plus, too.
- Ability to create superior, original designs for the Web
- Strong design style, including creative design solutions within the constraints of the Internet.
- Strong conceptual skills, including online software concepts and online experience concepts
- Strong technical knowledge of how web-based technologies apply to web design such as HTML, Flash, CSS, and AJAX.
