Responsibilities
- Turn ideas into presentable concepts and translate those concepts into design recommendations that achieve simplicity, despite the inherent complexity of processes being supported
- Produce standardized, best-in-class UX deliverables including information graphics to elucidate user research insights, navigation, and user interfaces with sitemaps, paper prototypes, wireframes, user flows, specifications and screen mockups as needed
- Work closely with product owners, business analysts and customer experience to understand use cases and user needs
- Define user experience and user interface for existing products and new features
- Deliver best-in-class HTML5/CSS3/JQuery front-end code across a broad array of interactive web and mobile projects. Leverage the latest responsive design techniques to design a full-featured experience on mobile devices
- Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smartphones and tablets
- Help establish and grow UI infrastructure, including libraries, shared stylesheets, etc.

Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, multimedia engineer or related design field
- 3+ years of hands-on UX design and UI development experience for web applications which leverage emergent technologies and mobile devices
- Extensive experience in designing and creating web user interfaces with focus on workflow and usability using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax and Single page programming

Assistant/Associate Professor of Graphic Design - LAU

The Department of Graphic Design at the School of Architecture & Design seeks applicants for a visiting position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor for one academic year in Beirut Campus. The applicant should demonstrate expertise in the practice of multimedia design (web, animation) and/or print /publication design. The candidate is expected to have a strong mastery of visual communication and design culture. Higher education teaching experience is advantageous.

Minimum Requirements: The candidate should be a holder of a terminal degree in Graphic Design or related design/art field, M.F.A, preferably PHD, in addition to teaching experience.

Duration of position: This position is open for the full academic year 2011–2012. The position is renewable for a second academic year in case of mutual interest, and the selected candidate may also apply to any future openings in the program after completing one year as a visiting professor.
